Hurricane Diaries

Because sometimes, self-care starts with your fingertips 💅

We all go through phases where life feels heavy. Maybe your friends are out of town, work has drained every drop of energy out of you, or you’re navigating heartbreak and pretending to be okay. Whatever the reason, sometimes we just need a little mood-uplift — something small that reminds us we deserve care too.

Here’s my go-to tip whenever I’m feeling low:
➡️ Get your nails done.

It sounds simple, right? But trust me — a fresh manicure has magical powers. Whether it’s a classic French set or a bold full makeover, walking out of a salon with new nails feels like stepping into the best version of yourself. It’s confidence you can literally hold in your hands.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to pampering yourself and giving your mind a tiny win. Self-attention isn’t selfish — it’s survival.

But if you’re on a budget (hi, same 🙋‍♀️), there’s still a way to get that dopamine boost.
I swear by stick-on nails from Superdrug — they cost around £5, come in tons of shapes and colours, last up to a week, and don’t damage your natural nails when removed. (Here’s the one I use → Superdrug French Ombre Oval Nail)

A salon manicure costs me £30–£50, plus £10–£15 for removal, and my nails always feel weak afterward. Yes, they last almost a month and look amazing — but that’s a treat I save for special occasions.

So here’s what I do:
💅 Acrylics → when I want to spoil myself
✨ Stick-ons → when I just need a quick happiness boost

Because sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest emotional shift.

I am attaching some more links to stick on nail options I have used in the past – Boots False Nail Blushing Jelly, Boots Fairy Nail Cat Eye Nail, Superdrug Classy Nails!
